These three questions are answered in new guidance on ecologically sustainable development (ESD) and Australian Government buildings. Now in a second edition, the ESD design guide for Australian Government buildings  provides an accessible introduction to ESD in buildings, suitable for all public sector staff involved in construction or refurbishment projects.
