A new policy for Australian Government energy use has been released. The Energy Efficiency in Government Operations (EEGO) policy contains new energy targets and requirements for buildings and agency operations.

ESD Design Guide for Australian Government Buildings, 2nd edition. The second edition of this popular introduction to ecologically sustainable buildings has been released to guide agencies, developers, tenants, owners and managers on opportunities to design and build better office buildings and public buildings.

Leading by example

The Sustainability in Government programme aims to achieve improvements in the contributions the public sector makes to sustainability (particularly ecological sustainability) through actions including better environmental management, energy efficiency, public reporting and sustainable purchasing.

This website is designed to help people in the public sector make a better contribution to sustainability. It contains useful resources for integrating sustainability into how the public sector operates (such as with procurement and how we run our buildings), as well as demonstrating how the public sector can lead by example.
